Gulf Extrusions Ramadan Football Tournament kicks off

Six teams vie for inaugural title at Gulf Extrusions football pitch in Jebel Ali

Gulf Extrusions, one of the largest aluminium extrusion plants in the Gulf, has announced that the 1st Ramadan Football Tournament 2009 has commenced yesterday (Wednesday, August 26, 2009) at the Gulf Extrusions football pitch in Jebel Ali. Gulf Extrusions has organised the event to mark the celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan and to promote sportsmanship and fitness among employees of different aluminium companies.

 

The six participating teams will be divided into two groups, with each group playing a round-robin format every Wednesday and Sunday. The top two teams in each group will play in the crossover knockout semifinals, with the winners advancing to the finals to be held on September 10, 2009.

 

Mr. Marwan Al Zaubi, HR and Finance Manager, Gulf Extrusions, said, "Sports is an excellent way to improve physical fitness and mental health. The competition will award various prizes to the individual and team winners. The participating teams are Gulf Extrusions, Schuco Middle East, Technical Glass, Danway Industry, Arabian Aluminum and Multiforms.
