A grenade was found Tuesday attached to a car in south Lebanon belonging to the son of a top Palestinian official.
A security source told The Daily Star that the car belongs to Hussein Maqdah, the son of Maj. Gen. Munir Maqdah, the head of the joint Palestinian force.
The grenade was attached to the underside of the car and appeared prepared to detonate upon operation of the vehicle in the town of Jadra Wadi Zeina, the source added.
Maqdah is a veteran Fatah official who was tasked in February 2015 to preserve order in and around 12 Palestinian refugee camps across the country.
The Lebanese Army was immediately deployed to dismantle the device. The area was vacated and the road was blocked.
