Global Village, the region’s entertainment, shopping, and cultural attraction located in Dubailand, will present Dubai-based pianist Malika Omar on its cultural and entertainment platform, the Community Stage, on January 28 at 8pm.
The South African-born musician, who has been playing piano since the age of 9, promises to dazzle the visitors of Global Village with her edgy style and ‘east-meets-west’ technique. Malika Omar is going to set the Community Stage into a delightful musical night with her original and interesting take on fusing classical Indian and famous contemporary music. She will also play some tracks from her recently-launched album Monsoon Dew.

Since the park opened in November, the Global Village Community Stage has served a number of emerging talents from the Sing and Swing Music School, Popular Music Institute, Kalanjali Music School, Indonesian Community Group, Majid and Sultan (Emirati popular music group) and Malhaar (the first Indian classical choir), to name a few. The Community Stage is best reached through Global Village Gate 1. It is right in front of the Global Village food court.
Etisalat is the official partner of the 14th edition of Global Village. Doors open at 4pm in the afternoon until midnight except on Thursdays and Fridays when it is extended until 1am in the morning. Mondays are allotted for families only. Tickets are priced at AED 10 each. For the disabled and kids below three years old, entrance is free.
