Former UN Secretary-General Butros Butros Ghali told Lebanese President Emile Lahoud on Sunday that the suspects involved in the January deaths of 11 Lebanese civilians in Congo have been jailed, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
Ghali, who is the secretary-general of the Francophone Organization, said he asked Salem Ahmed Salem, the Organization of African Unity’s secretary-general, to contact top officials in Kinshasa and inquire about the investigation into killings, added the paper.
