Germany's Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder Thursday offered his support to outgoing US president Bill Clinton in his effort to bring Israeli and Palestinian leaders to the negotiating table after nearly three months of bloodshed in the Middle East.
Schroeder spoke with Clinton on the telephone Thursday, a government spokesperson said.
Peace talks at Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, were cancelled at the last minute on Thursday because of disagreements over a US peace proposal -- BERLIN (AFP)
