ALBAWABA - Criminal law expert attorney Nadija Samour announced on behalf of the Palestinians that they had filed a criminal complaint against a number of government officials, including Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann, Development Minister Svenja Schulze, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Economy Minister Robert Habeck, Finance Minister Christian Lindner, and Chancellor's Chief of Staff Wolfgang Schmidt, at a press conference held in Berlin, according to the Anadolu agency,

Samour listed the following as justifications for the criminal complaint against the German government: acceptance of military sales to Israel, diplomatic and political backing, and the cessation of aid payments to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).

According to Nadija Samour, "In the criminal complaint submitted to the prosecutor's office, we pointed out that the German government assisted Israel in its genocide in Gaza."

Samour pointed out that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) had determined that there is plausible evidence that genocide is being perpetrated against Palestinians, reaching a historic ruling based on the case South Africa had brought against Israel. As a result, Germany is required by international law, together with other third nations, to stop genocide. It is our holy obligation to stop genocide and its consequences."

At the press conference on behalf of her family, activist Nora Ragab revealed that her uncle, who lived in Gaza, had perished in an Israeli airstrike.

Ragap demanded responsibility for the genocide and held the German government accountable, highlighting the importance of remembering the dead and sharing their tales.

They did not want to be silent in the face of the "genocide" committed on the Palestinian people, Nora Ragap continued.

Attorney Alexander Gorski said that while he blamed individuals who authorized guns exports, arms businesses shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

Gorski stressed that attorneys ought to think about stopping arms exports and corporations that manufacture weapons.

The lawyers' press briefing notes stated that from October 7 and November 7, 2023, Germany authorized 185 arms deliveries to Israel, representing 28% of Israel's total weaponry imports.

It was mentioned that the people who filed the criminal case received support from the Palestinian Public Diplomacy Institute, the European Legal Support Center, and the Legal and Justice for Palestine and Accountability Initiative.
