Boyzone star Stephen Gately is shattered after his attempts to land a role in the new Harry Potter movie ended in failure.
The New Beginning singer has made no secret of the fact that he is desperate to pursue an acting career.
Gately is a huge fan of JK Rowling’s best-selling Harry Potter books and put himself forward to join a cast that includes Richard Harris and Alan Rickman.
He says, "It's something I really want to do. I'm mad into acting
and I'm mad into the Harry Potter books so it would be ideal for
me.
"My company are in talks with the Harry Potter company so
hopefully something will evolve."
But Gately's management company Safe on October 10, admitted
that he has not succeeded in landing a role.
Grant Logan, of Safe, says, "to be honest, I think we have missed the boat with Harry Potter.
"We found out about the whole thing a bit too late and they have
already started shooting it.
"At this stage we are still hoping to get Stephen a small cameo
or a walk-on part but we are not too optimistic.” – Neil Batey (Wenn,
