ALBAWABA - In a swift rebuttal to Israeli War Council member Benny Gantz's recent remarks, Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir took to social media to criticize Gantz's leadership and intentions.
Ben Gvir called for a reevaluation of the War Council's role, advocating for a shift towards a more responsible and robust policy approach.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected Benny Gantz's ultimatum, accusing him of prioritizing threats against the Prime Minister over dealing with Hamas.
Netanyahu, in a statement, expressed his disapproval of Gantz's proposed deadline, stating, "Gantz has chosen to set his conditions at a time when our army is engaged in combat against Hamas in Gaza."
Ben Gvir characterized Gantz as a leader lacking in substance, describing him as a "small leader but a grand acrobat" who has been focused on destabilizing the government since his entry into office.
Referring to Gantz's diplomatic trip to Washington, Ben Gvir accused him of undermining Prime Minister Netanyahu's agenda, resulting in a deterioration of relations with the United States. He suggested that Gantz's actions abroad were part of a larger scheme to undermine the government's stability.
Mentioning Gantz's past decisions, Ben Gvir pointed out instances where he believed Gantz had prioritized appeasing Palestinians over Israeli security interests. He criticized Gantz for hosting Palestinian leaders and making concessions on security measures in the West Bank.
Moreover, Ben Gvir questioned Gantz's integrity, accusing him of making political deals at the expense of national security. He argued that Gantz's recent rhetoric on responsibility was hypocritical given his history of opportunistic maneuvering.
Netanyahu further criticized Gantz's conditions, describing them as manipulative and indicating Israel's defeat and neglect of the majority of the captives, along with the retention of Hamas in power and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
