GAM Honors Its Employees’ Children Who Scored Exceptional Tawjihi Results

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Employee Club recently held an honorary celebration for its employees’ children who scored exceptional Tawjihi results, sponsored by the City Deputy Manager for Cultural, Social, and Sports Affairs, Engineer Haitham Jweinat.

The Head of the GAM Employee Club, Salameh Al Nasr, affirmed GAM’s commitment to instilling the concept of family bonds in its employees, stemming from the Mayor of Amman, Eng, Omar Maani’s, support of social work and youth-oriented programs.

During the celebration that was held at the GAM Employee Club and honored 69 students, Al Nasr stated that the Club was trying to increase the number of scholarships for employees’ children, which currently reach 15 scholarships, at JOD 1,000 annually per scholarship.

From another angle, Eng. Haitham Jweinat honored the successful Tawjihi students, 20 of whom had GPAs exceeding 90 percent, giving them certificates of appreciation and prizes as a reward for their academic prowess.

Hala Salman Al Hadeed ranked first amongst the honored students in the literary stream (third in the Kingdom), with a GPA of 98.1 percent, while Hala ‘Adnan Al Smeihat ranked first in the scientific stream, with a GPA of 97.3 percent, and, in third place, Mais Mbeideen, with a GPA of 96.7 percent.

The Secretary of the GAM Council, Tawfeeq Al Thowabieh, gave a speech on behalf of the students’ parents, thanking the Mayor of Amman, Eng. Omar Maani, for his continued support of GAM Employee Club members, and for honoring their academically-exceptional children. He indicated that this plays a part in developing institutional loyalty, and motivating members to work harder to provide outstanding services.

During a speech she gave on behalf of the honored students, Student Diala Nebal Al Bati’a thanked GAM for its sponsorship of and tribute to exceptional students, pointing out that such an honorary event reinforces their academic triumph, and encourages them to put in more effort to achieve academic excellence, in addition to motivating them to keep up their success at university.
