French-Tunisian hostage Nourane Houas, abducted since December 1, 2015 in Yemen, was released on Monday and taken to Oman, TAP learned from several sources.
According to the Omani official news agency, Oman’s Foreign Ministry said it had managed in co-ordination with Yemeni sides to find hostage Nourane Houas and took her on Monday night to the Sultanate pending repatriation".
Nourane Houas, employee of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), was abducted on December 1, 2015 by an armed group while on her way to work in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.
In a video released during her captivity in May, Nourane Houas had appealed for help, saying her life was in danger.
A large solidarity campaign was launched on the Internet, calling for the release of Nourane Houas.
