Four people were detained on Tuesday in connection to a terror blast in Istanbul's Beyazit area that killed 11 people and injured 36 others, police officials said.

The attack by a bomb-laden car, which targeted a police vehicle and killed seven policemen and four civilians, was carried out at 8:40 a.m. local time said Istanbul Governor Vasip Sahin.

Police have evacuated the area surrounding the blast, and the injured have been taken to nearby hospitals.
