A drone struck a car late Wednesday night, killing four suspected Al-Qaeda militants, local residents and officials told Reuters Thursday.
The attack occurred in al-Mahfad in Abyan province and targeted members of Ansar al-Sharia, a part of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
Among those killed included Ahmed al-Kazimi, a man described by local residents as a local mid-ranking leader.
The United States has been using drones in Yemen against AQAP but does not publicly comment on their activity.
