A Yemeni air force Mi-17 helicopter crashed near the capital on Monday, killing three pilots and two soldiers, military sources said.
The Soviet-built "military transport Mi-17 helicopter crashed in Sabaha region, 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Sanaa, killing three pilots and two Yemeni soldiers," a source told AFP.
He said a "technical fault" caused the accident, without elaborating.
"The helicopter took off from Dailami airbase, 30 kilometers (18 miles) north of Sanaa, on a training mission," he said.
Sources at first reported the crash involved a MiG-21 fighter – SANAA (AFP)
