FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq: FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, has recently introduced in the Middle East, its new FileNet Business Activity Monitor (BAM) solution, which provides real-time event management and visibility of business performance data to enhance operational responsiveness and decision making. Based on FileNet’s P8 Enterprise platform, BAM runs in conjunction with FileNet’s market-leading BPM capabilities.
The new FileNet BAM solution provides visibility into the effectiveness of business processes and overall organizational performance as measured against key performance indicators (KPIs). Business managers can receive alerts via customizable dashboards, and if need be, can automatically initiate actions or workflows based on those alerts. Business managers can also analyze data and correlate it with business processes, as well as data from other enterprise applications, to gain further insight into specific alerts and events. This can provide customers with the necessary context to make the right decision right at the moment it matters most in the business process.
With FileNet BAM, organizations can improve the visibility of the overall performance of the organization at both a macro and micro level, down to each individual transaction or business process. It allows companies to increase organizational responsiveness and better manage and reduce risk by identifying issues before they become problems, and taking immediate action to avoid threats and/or mitigate risks.
FileNet’s new BAM capabilities are a key component of its strategy to offer customers continuous process improvement capabilities and to further differentiate its BPM offering.
Commenting on BAM solutions, Carlo Stellati, Vice President, South Europe, Middle East and Africa, FileNet, said, “FileNet’s BAM solution offers more than just dashboarding. It senses events and correlates data to provide the context for those events, enabling organizations to respond accordingly. This helps improve operational agility and business performance across the board – at both strategic and tactical levels.
“More than 1,400 of our customers use our Process Automation technologies and our BAM solution is one of the first BPM solutions that offers round-trip integration to automate, integrate and continually optimize business processes in real-time,” Stellati added.
FileNet’s BAM solution offers several key features. Its easy-to-use, user configurable dashboards and flash-based graphics lets users customize their own dashboards – without IT involvement – to track specific metrics and alerts that are relevant to their job function. In addition, at any given time, a business user can modify KPIs, metrics, and alerts in response to the changing market requirements.
Additionally, the solution features an integrated rules engine, which leverages business logic to help organizations put data into the proper perspective. This enables businesses to discern whether they should take action based on an out-of-range dashboard reading. This avoids making quick decisions with only partial information that may not be in the best interest of the organization.
FileNet BAM’s architecture, FileNet P8, features a patent-pending streaming database capability, as opposed to batch processing used by other BPM and business intelligence offerings. This helps to eliminate data latency, ensuring real-time reporting and event handling for better, faster decision-making.
