The kerkennah islands, located off the southeast coast of Tunisia in the Gulf of Gabes, are marking the 7th edition of the octopus festival. They are also holding a sailing regatta dubbed ‘El Miza’, the first leg of the Mediterranean circuit of "Latin sailing".
According to Tunisia Online, the three-day festival features sports tournaments exhibitions, poetry, music, cinema, a children’s show, a theatrical performance and a traditional marriage ceremony.
Kerkennah can be reached by ferry that operates all year long with more trips during the summer season.
