The Palestinian official in charge of Jerusalem file, Faisal Husseini, has said that the present conflict between the Palestinians and Israel is no longer an Intifada, but rather a struggle for independence by the Palestinians.

In an interview with Radio Israel, quoted by The Jerusalem Post Wednesday, Husseini said that the conflict would only end when the last of the Israelis leave the lands occupied in the 1967 war.

He added that within a few years, Palestinians would be the majority in the area and they would then be the ones to decide if the Israelis would have a state.

He told the radio that the decision would be based on a response to Israel's behavior in the current conflict.

The last Palestinian Intifada (1987-1993) was the main reason behind putting Palestine back on the “International Map” according to analysts – Albawaba.com
