Following participation by its management on the Abu Dhabi stand at the major ITB travel exhibition this spring, Mirfa Hotel has scored a success with several European tour operators who have committed to allocations at the resort for the coming year.

One of the four-star hotels in the Danat Hotels & Resorts collection, Mirfa particularly appeals to families looking for value-for-money options in the UAE, said general manager, Ali Salih.

“The tour operators will promote the resort to those looking for good weather and a relaxing environment,” he said.  “We can offer high standards and every facility, but without the premium price may deter those on a budget from travelling to the UAE.”

As well as a contract with the German TUI group for winter 2006/7, Mirfa Hotel is also receiving a number of other European operators who are coming to the emirate for a site inspection, prior to including Abu Dhabi in their new brochures.

In addition, several operators have also looked at adding a round-trip itinerary in their winter brochures, offering a combination of Mirfa Hotel with two other Danat properties, Liwa Hotel and Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna.

“The idea of a holiday that includes total relaxation at Mirfa with a trip to the dunes of Liwa and the beach and Sir Baniyas island at Jebel Dhanna is one with great appeal, and we look forward to attracting a new type of tourist to Abu Dhabi this winter, those who want to get away from the city environment,” said Salih.

Mirfa Hotel is located 160 kilometres from the UAE capital, offering just 50 rooms but a full range of complimentary leisure and recreation facilities including access to tgolf and putting greens, as well as two floodlit tennis courts, a volleyball court, fitness centre, swimming pool plus a climate-controlled child’s pool and play area.

Danat Hotels & Resorts, a division of the Abu Dhabi-based National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCT&H) manages two five-star resorts, the Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna and the Al Raha Beach Hotel, as well as a cluster of four-star properties in the emirate, including Mirfa Hotel. The hotels are either owned and/or managed by the group, or where the group is the owner-representative.

The National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCT&H) was formed in 1996 in response to the need to develop both tourism and commerce in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially Abu Dhabi.

The Corporation was formed as a semi-government organisation. NCT&H’s primary objective is to promote Abu Dhabi as an international destination, manage hotels and provide transportation and industrial catering services.
