Etisalat Academy organized two professional courses ‘Occupational Testing’ and ‘Occupational Personality Questionnaire’

The e-Competency Centre at the Etisalat Academy organized recently two specialized professional training courses entitled ‘Occupational Testing (OT)’ and ‘Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ)’ in collaboration with experts and consultant from the SHL International Group.

Several topics were highlighted during the training programme including the latest applications and mechanisms which are designed to match employees professional skills with their ambitions and career plans.

The five-day courses were attended by 35 HR executives and senior managers from both private and public sectors in the UAE and the GCC. The attendees represent several sectors such as banking, telecommunication, oil, utility as well as armed forces and police departments and a number of authorities and academic establishments from Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE.

The participants were divided into groups discussing various topics, like the expertise of individual HR departments in this field. Participants were able to exchange their expertise with consultants form the SHL International Group and gained a comprehensive understanding of how occupational assessments are  implemented worldwide.

The e-Competency Centre will be organizing these courses regularly in cooperation with SHL International Group. The third course is scheduled to be held in December 17 and will last for three months; participants will be able to receive OT & QPQ certification accredited from the British Psychological Society’s Competence in the UK.

Speaking about the courses, Maryam Mohammed, Manager, e-Competency Centre, Etisalat Academy, said: “The courses aim at introducing the latest concepts and tools in the field of evaluation occupational skills. One major advantage will be the reduction in training expenses as the courses will be more targeted and focused to the employees needs and the corporation demands.”

According to Maryam, the courses assist the companies to allocate the training programmes budget in order to achieve more efficiency.
