ALBAWABA - At least 32 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since the early hours of Saturday, according to the Civil Defense statement.
Israeli airstrikes since dawn on Saturday across the Gaza Strip have killed 32 people, including women and children, the Civil Defense revealed.
On the other hand, the Israeli military claimed that it was responding to what it considered violations of the ceasefire by Hamas.
Despite the US-brokered ceasefire entering its second phase in early January, violence has continued in the Palestinian territory, with Israel and Hamas exchanging accusations of violating the truce, which has been in effect since Oct. 10, 2015.

Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP, "Our teams have just finished the process of recovering the martyrs from under the rubble of the Sheikh Radwan police station in Gaza City, and with that the number of martyrs since dawn today has risen to 32, most of them children and women."
The raids came amid anticipation of the reopening of Rafad border crossing between Gaza and Egypt to individuals on a limited and restricted basis.
