Estimated value of UAE printing industry to reach AED 10 Billion

The UAE is widely recognised as the regional hub for publishing, printing and advertising, and in 2005 expenditure in the gulf, on advertising alone, grew by 15%, exceeding US$4.5 billion.  This exceptional rate of increase is expected to continue to reach US$5 billion by 2007. The thriving printing industry has an approximate annual growth of 20%, and Shuaa Capital Research estimate that the printing and publishing sector within the Middle East will be worth approximately $1.7 trillion by 2008.
Supporting these industries is essential and F&E Ltd., Organisers of Gulf Print '07 set Dubai 2 – 5 April next year, confirm that international leaders within the printing sector will be bringing the latest technologies to the 2007 show.

Heidelberg is a one-stop shop supplier of every category of printing solutions, from prepress solutions to a wide range of products for printing and finishing processes.  2007 will be the third consecutive year they will be exhibiting at Gulf Print. Grace Sarouphim, regional marketing manager, Heidleberg, stated, “Since attending last year’s show, it is clear that Gulf Print has become a regional event, which is why we are taking more space and investing more into this event.  Gulf Print 2005 bought Heidelberg great success, with on-site sales totalling Euro 5 million”.

Layout Middle East, who have witnessed the fast paced growth of Gulf Print over recent years, will be presenting the following exciting software packages:  QuarkXPress and ArabicXT version 7 - the world’s most popular publishing software. Job Ticket System – JTS is a web enabled job management system, the ideal software for advertising agencies to organise their production studios and NewsPress a complete editorial management workflow package for Arabic and English newspapers.

Beneficial to the publishing sectors, Layout Middle East will also present NewspaperXT, a concise newspaper production monitoring system, which allows production teams to view LIVE newspaper pages and MagazineXT, the equivalent for monitoring live magazine pages.

Also exhibiting at Gulf Print 2007 is Dynagraph for Printing Industry LLC. At the upcoming show they will be showcasing the Roland 200 sheetfed – offset press from MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG with 4 colour units.  The R200 is a compact and flexible 52x74cm press, with a maximum speed of 13,000 sheets per hour, which can process paper, board and synthetic materials from 0.04 to 0.08 mm thickness.


Gulf Print will take place from 2 – 5 April 2007, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.  Running parallel to the exhibitions will be a host of informative seminars and conferences, where delegates can debate industry related topics
