quality and competitiveness"
ESA Gulf, The Graduate School of Business & Finance, with the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), is holding a seminar entitled “The Stakes of Healthcare Services: Quality and Competitiveness” at AGU's premises in Salmaniya, on Monday, 18th June 2007. The seminar marks the launch of ESA Gulf's new Executive Masters in Hospital Management and Healthcare Governance, under the umbrella of the Graduate School of Business and Finance.
Starting at 9:00 am with a welcome note by H.E. Professor Rafia Obaid Ghubash, President of AGU, the seminar will discuss various approaches to enhancing health care management and services.
"It is widely acknowledged that performing governance is required in the healthcare sector. The core aim of this seminar is to raise consciousness on issues of quality programs as accreditation, and to work towards practical steps to enhance patient rights, transparency, and safety," remarked Dr. Philippe Mouillot, ESA GULF Director.
“Renowned guest speakers welcomed by the AGU’s local experts will cover these topics, and will engage in a dialogue about the implementation of these approaches within the Gulf Healthcare systems. Speakers include Mr. Alain Michel Ceretti, President of the National Mission of Information, Development of the Mediation with the patient – French High Authority of Health (HAS), Member of the Head National Public Health Insurance Committee, who will discuss “Healthcare competitiveness viewed by the patient: right, transparency and safety".
Also leading an informative and useful discussion for Health Management professionals is Dr. Yannick Martin, French High Authority of Health (HAS), who will be speaking on “Designing a safe healthcare organization".
Providing a more locally-specific perspective, Dr. Khaldoon Al-Roomi, Director of WHO–EDC center, will speak on “Graduate Programs at CMMS: Impact of research and training on the quality of healthcare delivery in the Gulf region.”
Dr. Mouillot, and Mr. Karim Laaribi will close the seminar introducing the forthcoming Executive Master in Hospital Management and Healthcare Governance at ESA Gulf, which will be followed by lunch and the opportunity to network with the keynote speakers and other healthcare professionals.
ESA-Gulf is the fruit of a partnership between the Arabian Gulf University, the French Petroleum Institute, the Higher School for Business of Beirut (Ecole supérieure des Affaires de Beyrouth) and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP). The regional school is open to both GCC and non-GCC citizens.
