Equinox International, one of the Middle East’s leading providers of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services and solutions, announced today that it has successfully installed the first wireless network to support Data Collection from Cranes in Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (DUBAL), one of the world’s largest producers of primary aluminum.
Equinox was selected by DUBAL’s Technical Support Group (TSG) to provide a wireless network solution that would allow the Operations Team to transmit crane data directly to the Jebel Ali Smelter’s Potroom control area.
The solution that Equinox provided established the foundation to reduce the cabling costs associated with the cranes and enhance data collection capability from the cranes. It is noteworthy that all of this was implemented during limited-duration maintenance windows without disrupting operations.
When asked about the project, Osama Qadan, Managing Partner of Equinox International commented, “We are honored that DUBAL has entrusted Equinox with this strategic and challenging project. We are excited that we have provided DUBAL, one of the largest non-oil contributors in the Dubai economy, with the best technologies and solutions our industry has to offer. Mr Qadan went on to say, “This project is a direct reflection of Equinox’s capability to design and implement challenging projects for top clients within schedule and budget. At Equinox, we are accustomed to challenging projects and we always strive to meet our client needs professionally.
