epi international hosts the 2007 keelboat sailing regatta
epi International, one of the UAE’s leading investment companies, has announced the inaugural epi International 2007 Keelboat Sailing Regatta, due to take place on the 16th to the 17th November in Dubai.
In collaboration with the Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC), the 2007 epi International Keelboat Regatta will bring together more than 20 sailboats competing in three different classes through two or three short course races, with a round-the-World race on Saturday 17th.
“Our objective is to increase our profile, introduce our brand to a relevant demographic and to host a fantastic weekend of entertainment and competitive racing,” said Keith Thompson, Director of Corporate Development and Finance, epi International. “To be competitive in sailing you need all the attributes we strongly believe in as a high performance investment company focused on result: teamwork, determination, vision, know-how, the will to win and having the right tools to succeed.”
Thompson is also one of the team members of the Mumm 30 epi Mattafix. Mattafix will be competing in this weekend’s races and is expecting nothing short of a flying start. “The boat looks great,” commented Thompson. “Mattafix has been re-sprayed and now sports the epi International logo, the mainsail was sourced from Doyle in New Zealand which also showcases epi International branding, and from last season’s performance, we know she’s fast and has the potential to win.”
The weekend is set to be a fantastic social occasion with corporate hospitality, a buffet dinner and a band on Friday night. Saturday will culminate with a presentation and prize giving, followed by a BBQ and band, all in keeping with the beach party theme of the social events.
The regatta provides the company with a fantastic platform to interact with current and prospective investment partners. epi International is focused on long term partnerships with its investors and their strategy is to mirror this ethos in their commitments to competitive sailing in the Gulf.
