Emirates Extruded Polystyrene attains DCL Quality certification from Dubai Municipality

Emirates Extruded Polystyrene (EEP), a leading UAE-based manufacturer of extruded polystyrene insulation board materials, has been awarded the DCL quality certification by Dubai Municipality for maintaining stringent quality management standards across its operations.

A joint venture between Dubai Investments and Farha Brothers of Cloisall Co. LLC, Emirates Extruded Polystyrene was awarded the certification following a comprehensive assessment of the company’s internal quality control system. The recognition comes as a significant fillip for EEP, which has been making rapid strides in the extruded polystyrene market since its launch late last year.

“Attaining the DCL certification within months of commencement of commercial production is an important milestone for EEP,” said Shukri Al Muhairi, Chairman of EEP and General Manager of Dubai Investments Industries. “Even before the company started formal operations, we had taken care to put in place an effective quality management mechanism, and have been meticulous in ensuring that all internal systems and processes complied with the highest quality standards. We are delighted that the quality control system at EEP has proved rigorous enough to stand up to a comprehensive external review.”

EEP’s polystyrene sheets are manufactured according to the highest quality standards; EEP manufactures extruded polystyrene sheets (XPS) under the brand name E-FOAM, the main application of which is for thermal insulation. Other EEP brands include E-Roof, E-Wall and E-Floor.

With the UAE Federal laws enforcing the use of energy saving and environment friendly building materials in the construction industry, it is now mandatory to use extruded polystyrene sheets for the insulation of roofs, walls and foundations. This has opened new avenues for quality-focused manufacturers like EEP, which has quickly emerged as a prominent industry player thanks to the popularity of its high-performance extruded polystyrene sheets within the construction industry.

“EEP is committed to developing technologically sophisticated products designed to meet the most exacting construction requirements. EEP’s insulation board materials, due to their unmatched performance and greater flexibility, are today widely used for a variety of building applications in the UAE,” Al Muhairi said.

EEP, which currently has an annual capacity of 2,500 metric tonnes, has meanwhile outlined major expansion plans aimed at increasing the company’s total output.
