A team of EgyptAir experts is due to arrive in the US Monday to meet local investigators and discuss the report on the airline's Boeing 767 which crashed in October 1999, a Cairo airport official said.

The report put together by US investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has still not been made public.

Gamil al-Battuti, the flight's co-pilot, is suspected by the NTSB of intentionally nose-diving the Boeing off the Rhode Island coast after takeoff from New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, killing 217 people.

Egyptians have angrily dismissed the suicide allegation, blaming a mechanical fault in the plane's elevator system for the crash of EgyptAir flight 990 -- CAIRO (AFP)
