Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mamdouh Biltaji has said that the sector has been negatively affected by the September 11 terrorist attacks on US landmarks and state buildings.
The minister was quoted by the Cairo-based Al Gomhuria as saying that tourism revenues have dropped by three percent since then, compared to last year’s figures.
He was speaking at the opening of the second session of Egypt’s tourism bourse.
Biltaji added that the effect of the attacks would be measured in the coming days according to the nature and magnitude of the US retaliatory attacks -- Albawaba.com
