Egypt’s Foreign Minister Ahmad Maher held a session of talks late Saturday with his Chinese counterpart. Tang Jiaxuan.
Emerging from the meeting, Maher said they agreed on maintaining contacts and consultations over issues of mutual interest. He said the top Chinese diplomat renewed an invitation for him to visit China.” I would be happy to visit China as soon as possible, Maher said, praising China as a friendly nation that has always stood by Arab rights.
On Friday, Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji arrived in Cairo on a five-day visit, for talks with president Hosni Mubarak. During his visit, Rongji is due to sign a number of economic bilateral agreements in the economic, technological, economic, agricultural and commercial domains. (Albawaba.com)
