The Egyptian population has risen to 70 million inhabitants, with the figure increasing by 1.3 million a year, an Egyptian official said in remarks published in Cairo Tuesday.
The figures were released by Ihab Elwi, president of the National Center for Mobilization and Statistics, who was quoted by Al-Akhbar.
Over 1.9 million Egyptians reside outside their country, he added. (Albawaba.com)
