eCompany, Etisalat’s one-stop e- powerhouse business unit today announced that it would demonstrate mPayment (Mobile Payment) service at Gitex. This service would provide consumers with a simple, convenient and secure way of making payments using any mobile, for a wide variety of services. The launch of the service is planned for early next year.
The mPayments solution from eCompany will help service providers like utilities, transport companies ,eGovernments and others merchants to add mPayments as an additional channel for accepting payments for services rendered and goods sold, thereby greatly enhancing customer convenience and ultimately customer satisfaction. Through a simple user interface, the mPayments solution would enable consumers to query and pay their bills, make purchases, pay for their taxi rides, home deliveries, query their bank balances, request cheque books, pay traffic fines, to name just a few of the potential applications for this versatile solution.
The critical success factor for any new service is that it should not change the common habits of the masses. The mPayment service has been designed to be device independent and can be used with any brand of mobile phones without having to install any special software or change their SIM card. The service will be available in a simple to use menu structure in both Arabic and English. eCompany is currently collaborating with Activa ME, which provides a well established and proven technology platform deployed in South Africa.
