Emirates Cable TV and Multimedia (E-Vision), the leading Cable Company in the region, today announced the launch of e-mobile - a new interactive service for mobile phones on Channel 400 of the e-vision network.

e-mobile service is a result of a joint effort from Global Business Services (GBS), the Abu Dhabi-based e-active channel operator and High Tech TV (HTTV), France-based iTV (Interactive TV) technical experts. It enables E-Vision subscribers to access a large selection of services dedicated for mobile phones such as ring tones, wall papers, Java games, and Video Clips. The user will be able to visualize and/or listen to the selected mobile service through the TV set before ordering it via SMS.

Mr. Humaid Sahoo, Chief Executive Officer – E-Vision, said: “e-mobile is a new facility offered by E-Vision.  It will pave the way for increasing both our interactive offerings to our customers and the benefits that flow through them. Moreover, e-mobile promises an immediate response due to its various interactive and entertaining services. “

“By opting for e-mobile, E-Vision’s subscribers will avoid the inconvenience of placing an order for a mobile service before experiencing it; thus maximizing his digital entertainment experience,” added Mr. Sahoo.

The e-mobile customer interface is built with state-of-the-art technology. It is part of the next-generation iTV services and completely complements the current iTV services provided through the e-active channel such as horoscopes and games.
Additionally, E-Vision plans to further develop this new approach to include interactive services for other items; thus providing access to a comprehensive package of digital services for the whole population.
With GBS’ e-active channel, e-vision offers its customers the most important interactive services selection in the Middle East and in the rest of Asia.
