ALBAWABA - Massachusetts authorities reported that an off-duty officer had fatally shot a knife-wielding man inside the Chick-fil-A in Boston, according to CBS News.
American media revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday at Boylston Street just before 5:30 p.m.
According to the police in Boston, a man holding a knife was chasing two people inside the restaurant and wanted to stab them when an off-duty officer decided to interfere.
An off-duty Boston Police officer was inside the same place when it happened and pointed his gun towards the man and asked him to let go of the knife, but he didn't.
After that, the off-duty officer shot the man who had the knife, Police Commissioner Michael Cox announced on Saturday night.
The armed man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was announced dead after a while.
On the other hand, the police officer was hospitalized for medical check, but he did not have any life-threatening injuries, Cox. added.
