ALBAWABA - The Syrian Embassy in Stockholm announced in a statement posted on Facebook that Syrians were naming victims killed in the mass shooting in Örebro city.
It wrote: "With deep sorrow and grief, the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Kingdom of Sweden expresses its strong condemnation of the criminal incident that took place in the Swedish city of Örebro, which resulted in the fall of innocent victims.
"It extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, including dear Syrian citizens, and to the friendly Swedish people, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. It also affirms its full solidarity with the Swedish government and people in these painful circumstances."
"The Embassy stands by the families of the Syrian and Swedish victims and wishes continued security, stability and prosperity for the Kingdom of Sweden."
Swedish police confirmed that 11 people were killed in a shooting that occurred at Campus Risbergska, which is an adult education centre in Örebro city.
Roberto Eid Forest, the head of the Örebro police district, revealed to the media that a group were also injured when a gunman opened fire at the campus in central Sweden. He added that the attack, which happened at around 12.30 p.m. local time, prompted a major response from police and authorities.
