ALBAWABA - The Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) attacked the Abdali border crossing between Kuwait and Iraq on Thursday, a security source in the southern Iraqi province of Basra told Shafaq News.

Explosions were heard on the border, which links Iraq and Kuwait, as escalation between Tehran and Washington continues for the 11th consecutive day.

The missiles crossed Iraqi airspace before hitting the border crossing inside Kuwait. The attack came as retaliation for an earlier bombardment of the Shalamcheh area inside Iranian territory, which killed two people and injured 11 more, according to the deputy governor of Iran's Khuzestan province.

The crossing was closed by Kuwaiti authorities after the strike.
