The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) headed a delegation consisting of nine prominent travel trade firms, which took part in the Swedish International Travel and Tourism Trade Fair (TUR) held recently in Gothenburg.
Khalifa Buamaim, DTCM Executive of Overseas Promotions, said, "TUR is Scandinavia's foremost travel trade fair and this year attracted around 1,900 exhibitors from almost 100 countries", according to Khaleej Times.
Buamaim, who led the Dubai team during the event, stated that Dubai's popularity in the Scandinavian market had grown since the opening of a DTCM representative office in Stockholm covering the Nordic countries.
"The number of guests from Scandinavia at Dubai's hotel establishments grew by 15 per cent in 2000, totaling about 46,000”.
The nine co-participants under the DTCM's umbrella at the event are Alpha Tours, Crown Plaza Dubai, Dubai Marine Beach Resort and Spa, Emirates, Golden Hotel Apartments, Leisure Time Tourism, Net Tours, SNTTA Emirates Tours and Sunflower Tours. (Albawaba.com)
