Dubai police has announced that it has started providing a new service on the internet via a special program called “Home Safety Service.”
Brigadier Khalfan Khalfan Abdullah, director of the General Department for Criminal Investigation was quoted in a press release published on the site as saying that the service is “part of the e-government initiative,” aiming at combating crime and promote safety and security.
He said, “The service was provided following directions from Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defense General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.”
The home safety page enlightens the public on preventive measures that should be taken to protect the house and other properties.
According to the press release, the official called on the public to help fight crime. So far, a total of 139 people visited the site and made their suggestions and others have subscribed for the service.
Dubai Police have called on the public to benefit from the home safety service and to make suggestions to improve the service either by emailing them at [email protected] or by visiting it is website www.dubaipolice.gov.ae.
According to the police, an increase in the number of burglaries during the summer vacation has been noticed. The service depends on the information posted by subscribers on when they will leave and return to the country. Police will then patrol their areas and keep an eye on their houses – Albawaba.com
