Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered the emirate’s public prosecutor to prepare a draft law to legalize e-signatures in the emirate, reported the Gulf News on Thursday.
"With this (new law), the emirate of Dubai will be the first in the Arab World to legally recognize e-signatures," an official told the paper.
Sheikh Mohammed, who is also the defense minister, also directed the public prosecutor to keep a paper copy on file whenever an e-signature was used.
The official added that Sheikh Mohammed was keen to make the switch to e-government in October – Albawaba.com
