Dubai Knowledge Village, a member of TECOM Investments, highlighted the creation of a unique hub for human resource development and management (HRD and HRM) markets, as well as for education in a case study presented at the 37th IFTDO World Conference and Exhibition, a global initiative promoting human resource development as an effective organizational tool across all sectors of the society.

Organised for the first time in the Middle East by the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), the conference was held in Dubai from 3-6 March, and built around the theme of ‘Knowledge and Human Resources’. Dubai Knowledge Village participated as silver sponsors of the event.

As a centre for learning and excellence, Dubai Knowledge Village continues to spearhead activities that highlight the importance of developing a highly skilled knowledge community. Home to over 400 HRM partners and training centres, the cluster specializes in human resource development, human resource management, professional testing, as well as management training and consultancy services.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said: “We channel our endeavours towards actively participating in initiatives that would place the Middle East as a destination for learning and HR development excellence on the global map. The Dubai Knowledge Village has consistently organised forums and events for business partners as well as professionals to develop their individual skills.

“The 37th IFTDO World Conference and Exhibition will significantly help raise awareness on the role of HRM and HRD in a knowledge economy. Hosting such significant events is a major milestone for Dubai, contributing to its objective of transforming into a knowledge-based economy. This could have been possible only with the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”

With over 400 partners comprising training centres, professional centres and HR companies, Dubai Knowledge Village has successfully established itself as the world’s only free zone holistically focused on professional training and learning support services.

The IFTDO conference drew HR development managers, trainers, facilitators, business professionals and educators. The event addressed latest developments, trends, scientific research and technological advancements in the field of Human Resource Development practices and their impact on the dissemination, acquisition and application of knowledge. Discussions at the conference covered topics on knowledge creation and human resource management, fast forward technologies in education and training, and socio economic trends.
