The need for clinical studies on common diseases such as diabetes and hypertension in the United Arab Emirates has been emphasized by one of the recommendations of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference, which ended earlier this week.

The conference called for seeking special techniques to follow up on patients suffering from these illnesses, in coordination with medical and pharmaceutical colleges, according to Khaleej Times.

In addition, the conference called for carrying out regular evaluations of pharmacists before renewing their licenses.

The conference recommended adopting standards for cosmetic products to protect the general public in line with international procedures.

Furthermore, the participants called for greater media involvement in educating people to prevent the misuse of various types of medicines. (Albawaba.com)
