Dubai Customs arrests a woman carrying 2 kilos of Cocaine in her stomach
Dubai Customs succeeded in preventing 2 attempts of drugs smuggling estimated to be at 2533 grams of addictive substances through Dubai International Airport.
Inspectors in Airport Operation Department – Terminal (1) had suspected a female passenger arriving from an African country; despite the fact that the initial inspection did not come to a result. A female inspector had doubts about the passenger depending on her experience and knowledge of body language. Therefore, she was exposed to the body scan machine; where their doubts come true after it showed strange objects in her stomach. Responding to the question regarding the number of capsules she was carrying, she admitted of swallowing 50 capsules.
Depending on the mutual coordination and cooperation with Drugs Intervention Department, the suspected was transferred to the General Department of Criminal Investigation in Dubai Police, in order to complete investigation with her. Later on it was confirmed that she was carrying 103 capsules containing 2123 grams of cocaine.
In a similar incident, Dubai Customs Inspectors in Airports Operation Department – Terminal (2) had suspected a passenger arriving from one of the Asian countries, when they exposed him to the body scan machine; it was clear enough that there were strange objects in his stomach.
After investigation it was found that he was carrying 36 capsules containing 411 grams of Heroin.
