Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry takes part in the 17th round of Index 2007 Exhibition for furniture and interiors which was opened yesterday (Thursday) at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center and runs till November 5. Dubai Chamber was keen to participate in such event due to its importance being one of the biggest outstanding exhibitions of furniture, interior designs and office equipment in the Middle East. The Chamber’s participation goes in line with its strategy and role as an interactive link between businessmen and investors in Dubai and visitors of the exhibition.
HE Sultan Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Government Sector Development, inaugurated the Index 2007 Exhibition, accompanied by a large number of government officials and business leaders from Dubai. Al Mansouri toured the exhibition and visited the pavilions of the participating companies. He was briefed about the products showcased which include modern designed items of home and office furniture and equipment and other interior design accessories. He also visited Dubai Chamber’s stand which attracted the attention of many visitors seeking information about the establishment of new businesses in Dubai.
HE Engineer Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, said the Chamber's participation aims at activating its key role as a communication and intermediation means between the business communities in Dubai and other businessmen and entrepreneurs visiting the exhibition.
"With its distinguished stand at Index exhibition, Dubai Chamber could promote its services provided to members and the local business community, as well as its interesting initiatives in accessing new markets for exports and re-export. The Chamber could also introduce the visitors to its facilities in providing businessmen and investors to the available investment opportunities in trade and industrial sectors," said Buamim.
Dubai Chamber is always interested taking part in the Index exhibition due to its importance being the biggest commercial and industrial exhibition organized in the Middle East and Africa. The exhibition, which attracts large numbers of local and foreign visitors, provides a good opportunity for Dubai Chamber to introduce its services and contributions in the trade exhibitions and economic partnership forums it organizes locally and abroad, in addition to highlight its pioneering role in protecting the interests of the business community.
Over 1,500 exhibitors from 56 countries, including a large number of national corporations, are participating in the Index 2007 Exhibition. The exhibition is expected to be visited by architects, interior designers, contractors, landscape developers, public and private buyers, agents, distributors of furniture, in addition to traders of carpets, fabrics, lighting and interior design accessories.
The staff available at the Dubai Chamber’s stand will be distributing pamphlets, brochures and CDs to the visitors. These publications contain information about the Chamber's services, activities and other economic data which are much useful for those willing to invest and establish new businesses in Dubai.
A large number of businessmen and investors are expected to visit Dubai Chamber’s stand, mainly those seeking more information on Dubai’s trade and investment, and other tips about the local trade regulations and laws.
