Dubai Chamber enhances customer and employee satisfaction
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry added yet another feather in its cap of achievements as the organization has been honoured with 2nd ranking in the evaluation results of the employee satisfaction at the Dubai Government Excellence Programme 2008. The Chamber consolidated its position from the previous 13 place to reach the 2nd as part of its strategic policy of creating a healthy and satisfactory work environment.
Dubai Chamber has scored 752 points out of 1,000 in Employee Satisfaction category and 811 points in the Customer Satisfaction category.
HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, accredited this achievement to the efforts of the Chamber in offering the best of facilities and technology to the staff so that they could serve the business community according to renowned best practice.
“Dubai Chamber has been striving hard to create a professional and friendly work environment so as to enhance their efficiency and productivity which ultimately serves our mission of supporting business growth and promoting Dubai as an international business hub. This recognition is a great motivation for us to pursue higher levels of excellence in all fields.” said Buamim.
The Chamber’s provides career development, educational and training programmes which has enhanced its staff satisfaction and built their confidence in their organizaton.
The Chamber’s leadership is keen on opening all communication channels with its employees with its open-door policy in listening to staff requests, suggestions and feedback. A great testimony of this is the Director General’s initiative “Coffee with DG” where he regularly invites different sections to have coffee with him and discuss various issues and developments in a friendly atmosphere.
As part of its employee satisfaction strategy, Dubai Chamber continuously organize various training courses for its staff to raise their professional skills and abilities as well as various recreational and entertainment activities to keep them fit and healthy.
Dubai Chamber has also achieved significant progress in the level of customer satisfaction as the Chamber recorded an 81% which has increased from last year when it scored 77%. The average customer satisfaction points this year stood at 803 with the Chamber scoring 811 out of the 1,000 points.
The Chamber received a Joint Projects Award with Dubai Customs for implementing a project to protect intellectual property. Moreover, the Chamber’s employee Hessa Kahoor, Representative of Membership and Documentation Services Department has been honored in the category of “Unknown Soldiers”, while Nadia Abdullah, Employee Relations Manager, was honoured in the category of Excellent Government Employee.
The Dubai Government Excellence Programme is intended to upgrade performance of the public sector and to enable it to keep pace with developments in the administrative and technical fields. This includes adoption of advanced administrative concepts, development of resources, and simplification of procedure and encouragement of staff’s creative and innovative spirit. Under this programme, Dubai’s various departments participate in a positive competition in which they are awarded for being the most efficient department, the best staff and the most creative administrative and technical experiments.
