The Dubai-Casablanca flight serviced by Emirates air-carrier was inaugurated earlier this week.

The flights, which are to connect the two cities three times a week, namely on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, are meant to strengthen ties between the two countries, according to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP).

The connection is expected to play a key role in consolidating ties between the two sisterly countries and will contribute to the advancement of Moroccan tourism, according to chairman of Emirates carrier, Sheikh Ahmed Ibn Saeed Al Maktoum, upon his arrival in Casablanca, Morocco earlier this week.

For his part, Moroccan Minister of Transport and Merchant Navy, Abdessalamn Znined, who welcomed the UAE delegation, said the flight would enhance bilateral cooperation, open Asia's gate to Moroccan products and increase the flow of tourists to Morocco from the Middle East and Asia.

Morocco regards special significance to the Arab tourism market in its strategy to attract ten million tourists by the year 2010, he added. (Albawaba.com)
