DOHALAND CEO awarded ‘‘Property Development CEO of the Year’

DOHALAND is delighted to announce the recognition of the outstanding leadership and visionary work of the CEO Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi, who has today been awarded the esteemed title of the ‘Property Development CEO of the Year’ by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute.

Held at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, the 7th Middle East CEO of the Year Awards recognize the involvement of outstanding CEOs in steering their organisations onto a path towards success and highlighting the reputation of the region to be one of the premiere hubs of globally competitive investment initiatives. This award gives high regard to the significant contributions of government and business sector leaders who helped forge cross-border relationships between the UAE and other countries, and build a positive reflection of the region’s vision to create a significant milestone in the global community.

In accepting his award Eng. Issa said, “I thank the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute for awarding me the accolade of ‘Property Development CEO of the Year’. The honour of this award recognises the achievements of DOHALAND. DOHALAND is about people, and I am delighted to lead a team who share the forward thinking vision and strategies, envisaged by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, the Heir Apparent His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned, Chairperson of DOHALAND. I take this opportunity to thank Their Highnesses for giving us the honour to implement this vision.”

Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi joins the honour roll alongside previous Middle East Excellence Awards winners including such esteemed business leaders such as Al Gore -  US Nobel Laureate and ex US Vice President, Dominic DeVillepin - former Prime Minister of France, and Anwar Ibrahim - former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.

 

In recognising Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi’s contribution to the development of the National Vision for Qatar, Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Chairman of the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute said, “The ME Awards Institute was created as a platform to acknowledge professionals and organisations from the region who have shown unparalleled ability to succeed, continually set standards of excellence and delivered strong leadership performance.  The achievements of Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi at the helm of DOHALAND were impressive. In his drive to promote Heritage, Innovation, Enrichment and Environmentally sound development through Sustainable practices, DOHALAND is really breaking the mould in introducing best practices within the region. We are deeply honoured to present this prestigious award to Eng. Issa for his remarkable achievements in the industry today.”
 
Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi was also acknowledged for his motivation and vision in establishing the Qatar Green Building Council. A unique initiative for the region, Eng. Issa has created an independent non-profit organisation committed to developing a sustainable approach to design and development of buildings for Qatar. Eng. Issa recognises that the evolution of Qatar’s green building practices will be different from other countries, climates and regions, hence the need for a Council specific to the region. 

“This award is a testament to this forward vision and also the recognition that Qatar and DOHALAND are working toward our shared aim of transforming the nation by 2030, into a nation capable of sustaining its own development and creating a strong sense of heritage and future living for generations to come,” added Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi.

“DOHALAND believes in innovative and alternative thinking. This is how I lead my organisation as its CEO, and the philosophy we impart to our people via our Corporate Responsibility initiatives. We aim to create future leaders from the talented youth already amongst us as Qatari nationals. It is our job as leaders now to encourage and enable the future generation in their work ethic and self improvement, not only for the benefit of themselves but for the community and the country,” said Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi.

DOHALAND continues to deliver the phased ‘Musheireb’ project in the heart of Qatar with in the five pillars of Innovation, Heritage and Culture, Environment, Sustainability and Enrichment. As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, young Qataris are encouraged toward becoming the nation’s next leaders. It is with this foresight that Eng. Issa M. Al Mohannadi leads DOHALAND into the next phase of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s vision for the country of Qatar.
