According to the Associated Press, Daesh claimed responsibility for two car bombs targeting Shiite militia late Saturday night in Baghdad.
The twin explosions killed at least 19 people, most of whom were innocent shoppers and funeral attendees, in the Karrada district of Baghdad, a popular location to for restaurants and cafes.
Two policemen were also killed in the attack.
Explosions in and around Baghdad have beecome increasingly more frequent as Iraqi forces battle Daesh militants in Anbar province.
