D2M Solutions is the only company in INDEX 2010, (8th-11th November, 2010), showcasing 3D Printing & 3D Laser Scanning technologies that can help designers create high quality and aesthetic products in a fraction of the time normally needed by traditional design and new product development methods. By utilizing cutting edge technologies, a designer of customized or innovative products can see profound benefits, and push his design skills to a new level with the confidence that his product can be manufactured, and indeed is what his customer really wants, prior to manufacturing. This opens up many new opportunities in the areas of low volume production and in customized or anatomical products.
At INDEX 2010, (hall 2, stand B94), D2M Solutions will be showing a range of technology solutions (hardware and software), that can create value for the designer, amongst which are: 'Catia Design', from Dassault Systemes, (an advanced 3D CAD environment for challenging design projects), a Dimension 3D Printer from Stratasys Inc., (for durable 3D models from CAD data) and a 3D Laser scanner from Creaform, (fast scanning of surface geometry to capture model or part data).
D2M Solutions will have a working 3D Dimension Printer from leading company Stratasys, Inc, at INDEX, and will be building 3D physical models in ABS plastic, in the show directly from 3D CAD design data. The company will also have a number of exciting examples of models that have been built by the 3D Printer, demonstrating the value of using 3D printing as a conceptual design tool and for the purposes of form, fit and function.
D2M Solutions' Sales Director, Mr. Alex Papantoniou commented that: "We are excited to be a first time exhibitor at the INDEX 2010 show in Dubai, with the chance to show Middle Eastern designers the latest cutting edge tools that can help them change the way they create, innovate and design new products. These technology tools can really help a designer to differentiate his skills in today's competitive global arena. A 3D model can assist the designer as a visual tool to convey his ideas to his clients and make changes early on in the creative process, saving him time and money, and therefore can become a vital part of his design bureau. 3D printed models are a very efficient means to quickly build contemporary and innovative 'organic inspired' architectural or interior design 3D models that would normally test the skills of the traditional model maker. Complex surfaces can be created simply from the 3D CAD data and designers and architects can use the office friendly Dimension Printers on their desktop, with no special environment or expertise required, due to the highly automated processes. Producing 3D models with the Dimension printer is therefore a technology that is easily accessible and affordable for any design bureau and professionals requiring a 3D physical model of their design."
D2M will also have an expert on hand, with the Creaform hand-held, 3D Laser scanner to demonstrate the ease of use of the equipment and how parts or existing products can be scanned to quickly capture surface geometries. This technology has many widespread applications and is used within many different sectors such as multi-media, arts & design, custom design products, custom-fit anatomical products, architectural & cultural heritage amongst others. Mr. Papantoniou says, "We are one of the few very experienced companies to offer this type of technology in the region, and we welcome enquiries in INDEX 2010, from interested parties on how they can use 3D Laser scanning for their specific applications. Our experts are well versed and trained to the highest standards to provide technical support and training to our customers and ensure that they gain the maximum benefits from using 3D scanning."
D2M Solutions is the only authorized and certified EPP trainer, (Educational Partner Program), for Dassault Systemes' PLM software solutions located in the region. Dassault Systemes has developed 'Catia Design', a powerful 3D CAD tool that can handle challenging design problems and provides a creative platform that can be used for digital product creation. Dassault can also offer products to create animations, product manuals and a real-life experience of the product within its intended environment, giving designers a competitive advantage and in-house control over their intellectual property and the creation of their own promotional media.
The company spokesman commented, "We are expecting a lot of interest from the visitors to the INDEX exhibition, because in our competitive environment, professionals are evermore seeking new and innovative ways of applying technologies within their specific line of work, and we aim to offer something completely different to the design sector. INDEX is the largest show of this type in the region and is always well attended, so we see our participation as an important step in bringing a spotlight on to our products and professional services in UAE and wider Middle East region."
