Cyprus Defense Minister Socratis Hasikos has said that indications show that the military helicopter, which crashed Wednesday near Paphos, made an emergency landing due to an engine problem or fire.

Five officers of the National Guard, aboard the helicopter, including its Commander, Lieutenant General Evangelos Florakis, were killed in the crash, near the western coastal town of Paphos.

Two experts from Greece arrived Wednesday to join their Cypriot colleagues in the investigations, according to the Cyprus news agency. Two Bell experts of the American manufacturers Textron and two Rolls- Royce engine manufacturers were also scheduled to arrive in Cyprus. (Albawaba.com)
