Connect 2005 summit to feature leading players from telecom industry

Connect 2005, the second international telecoms summit which will be held at the J. W. Marriott Hotel in Dubai from May 29 to June 1, 2005, will feature an industry-focussed exhibition, in addition to the conference. The exhibition, which is open to business and public, will give visitors a chance to interact with top professionals and exhibitors in the telecommunications sector.

The exhibition will run along side the conference on May 29 and May 30, 2005. Exhibitors at Connect 2005 include reputed names in the telecoms industry such as Etisalat , Motorola ,NCR Teradata ,Intervoice, International Turnkey Systems (ITS), Al Tamimi & Company, Huawei Technologies, Intermed Technologies and MTC Group.

Sabine Enthammer, Executive Director, IIR Middle East, the organisers of the event, said, "The exhibition represents an excellent opportunity for visitors to meet leading exhibitors and regional and international experts and seek their views on issues relating to the industry.

Commenting on the telecoms summit, Virender Kapoor, Director of Symbiosis Institute of Telecoms Management, who is the author of the book 'Heart over Matter' and one of the speakers at the summit, said, "The exhibition and the conference will facilitate better understanding of the Middle East telecom market, and the event provides an excellent platform for interaction between the developed and developing nations. Connect 2005 will give a glimpse of how the Middle East telecom scenario will evolve in the coming years."

"All developing nations today understand the importance of telecom infrastructure and its impact on the overall economy. Middle East countries should embrace the concept of privatisation so that they achieve the desired results fast and without investing their own money," Kapoor said.
The event will feature case studies, presentations and specialist workshops, addressing key issues. More than 30 leading international industry experts will be addressing the summit.
