The chief of the UN nuclear watchdog arrived in Tripoli Saturday to assess first-hand Libya's pledge to cancel weapons programs in the hope of starting a series of inspections.
Speaking at the airport, Mohamed ElBaradei said he "would like to meet with anybody who has anything to say" about the country's nuclear programs. According to AFP, he said that if Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi "is available, I should be meeting with him."
"The purpose of the visit will be to initiate an in-depth process of verification of all of Libya's past and present nuclear activities (...) and pave the road for the upcoming inspections," IAEA spokesman Mark Gwozdecky said Friday in Vienna. (Albawaba.com)
