Cellucom, the premier distributor of mobile communication devices and one of the fastest-growing retail chains in the region, has further strengthened its presence in the UAE by opening a new outlet in Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates today (Wednesday, 28 September, 2005).

Cellucom has been expanding rapidly in the region, with the Mall of the Emirates outlet coming close on the heels of the opening of a Cellucom showroom in Azizya Mall in Riyadh and Cellucom Mall, a dedicated mobile phone mall, in Jeddah. The company had also recently entered the Oman market by opening two outlets in the country.

“Mobile markets across the Arab world have been growing at a remarkable pace, and the UAE is no exception,” said Arun Nagar, Managing Director, Cellucom. “While the UAE already has a mobile subscription rate of 95 per cent, the saturation level for mobile subscription in the country is expected to be as high as 150 per cent, on account of a growing trend to keep separate mobiles for business and personal use. Moreover, a significant majority of mobile phone users in the country, especially in Dubai, keep changing their phones within a short period of use to switch to newer models.”

“Malls have today grown in popularity to become virtual cities in themselves, especially in the UAE. Recognizing this, Cellucom has adopted a strategy to ensure its presence at all leading malls in the UAE, and the Mall of the Emirates outlet is a first step towards achieving this larger objective. We will shortly open outlets at a number of major malls in the country, including the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, Mega Mall in Sharjah, and the City Centre malls in Deira, Sharjah and Ajman,” Nagar added.

Cellucom is marking the launch of the new showroom by giving away surprise gifts and running a raffle draw for all those visiting the outlet. The Cellucom outlet will offer a host of value-added services to customers, including special life-time warranty, regional warranty and 30-minute repair or replacement services.

“Cellucom’s unique ability to be the first to introduce new models to the market, as well as its customer-centric approach, have been the key reasons behind its emergence as one of the fastest-growing retail chains in the region. We are committed to offer premium quality services to our customers, while keeping pace with changing consumer needs and market trends,” Nagar concluded.

Cellucom is a global enterprise engaged in the distribution of cellular communication devices and accessories from its base at Dubai Airport Free Zone. Its strategic location in the free zone has given a tremendous push to its exports into the emerging markets of Asia, Europe, Americas and Africa. In addition to its wide dealer network in the Middle East, Cellucom has its own retail stores in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The company also has a base in East Africa.
Through its 'think global, act local' policy the company has fostered regional associations and adopted a global management style. Sourcing directly from the manufacturers of most of the major brands of mobile phones, Cellucom also works closely with many cellular networks providing special packaging with the operator's design and branding conventions.
