A car accident near the Chekka tunnel in the Lebanese city of Tripoli killed five people and injured two early Sunday morning, reported the Daily Star.
Khodr Dorgham and Hatem Akl Daoud were injured in the crash, while Abdel-Karim Hamed, Ayman Khadour, Hassan Hajal, Mohammed Hajal and Abed Hamed all lost their lives.
All the victims were from an Alawite community living in Jabal Mohsen, except Daoud, who is Syrian, said the paper.
The injured and three of the fatalities were taken to Batroun Hospital, while the rest were admitted to the Tripoli Public Hospital.
The Civil Defense bureau in Batroun had to cut through twisted metal to disentangle the bodies from the car, a Mercedes 230 – Albawaba.com
